Shoreline and new horizons
Hello Creative Souls 💖
It’s been a while since I last posted on my website and it’s fallen into disrepair. My art has naturally shifted direction and I’m gradually updating the website to reflect my recent work. I’ve been rather busy building a presence online which I will tell you more about, so grab a cuppa, get comfy and read on.
Over the past couple of years, my creative journey has taken a wonderfully experimental turn as I’ve immersed myself in the world of mixed media. Working across new mediums has allowed me to discover fresh ways of expressing ideas, and in the process, my artistic style has evolved - becoming looser, freer, and more intuitive.
“Don’t think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it’s good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.” – Andy Warhol
Through combining different materials, I’ve learnt to embrace texture, spontaneity, and the unexpected. Acrylic paints, acrylic inks, and Caran d’Ache oil pastels, amongst many other materials, have become my tools of choice for creating depth and vibrancy, and playing with their interactions on canvas and in sketchbooks has opened up whole new possibilities.
I’m thrilled to share that, for the very first time, I’m offering a landscape painting inspired by the South West Coast Path, a place close to my heart, where I often walk with Audrey. This piece, completed on canvas board, captures the rugged beauty and shifting light of the coastline, with layers of colour and texture built up through my chosen mixed media.
This piece represents a new chapter in my practice, and I hope it brings some of the energy and serenity of the coast into your home. It can be found right here, in my online shop.

So, stay tuned for more explorations as I continue to push my creative boundaries—there’s so much more to discover.
I’ve created a Patreon page where you can become a free member. Here you’ll find my monthly newsletter, resource photographs, favourite art books, extra video content and my nature journal pages. I’m also on Substack as The Pondering of an Artist and of course my YouTube channel where I share my adventures in Dorset and Cornwall. You’ll often see me driving around local beauty spots in Birdie my micro-camper enjoying time outdoors sketching and painting plein air. So if you’d like to support me and my work please subscribe to my social media platforms. Oh and I almost forgot I’m also on TikTok!
I truly appreciate your ongoing support. Sharing my content with others is invaluable for my small art channel and growing presence. Believe me, it’s incredibly challenging to gain visibility online!
Until next time, thank you for being here…
