My Art Materials
I often get asked what art materials I use. That really depends on how I am creating art, whether it's out and about on a walk, on my travels or in the studio, so I have decided to list the materials I most enjoy using in my mixed media sketchbooks and the sketchbooks I like to use.

My Favourite Sketchbooks
Seawhite Travel Journal A4/A5 Landscape
Seawhite Square Travel Journal 14x14cms
Seawhite Travel Journal A6 Landscape
Seawhite A5 Concertina Sketchbook
Ranger Dylusions Creative Journal, Square & Brown
Talens Art Creation, various sizes
Pith : Oroblanco Sketchbook 310x222mm
These are available on Amazon apart from the Pith which is available on Jackson's Art
Mixed Media Supplies
As my art has changed and evolved over time, and in the process of learning, I have discovered the secret to creating mixed media art, which is layering; it's all about the layers. I demonstrate how to use many of these materials over on my YouTube art channel.

Daniel Smith Watercolours (Tubes)
Caran D'Ache Gouache Set
Various Schminke Horadam or Holbein Gouache Tubes
Liquitex Basics Acrylics
Liquitex Acrylic Inks
Daler Rowney Acrylic Inks
Caran D'Ache Neocolor II
Pental Pocket Brush Pen with Black Ink Cartridges
Faber-Castell Studio Oil Pastels
Mont Marte Soft Oil Pastels

Shuttle Art Tempera Paint Sticks
Caran D'Ache Luminance pencils

These are some of my favourite supplies which I have collected gradually over many years. For sketchbook play, you don't need all these materials, and you don't need to be buying the most expensive brands for playing, experimenting, and having fun. However, for more serious pieces and commissions, I will always use professional brands for their pigment content and light fastness.
